A few changes to the 2024 PROGRAMME

Our bridge year has started again, we have had a very successful Congress (many thanks to all those who assisted), and there are lots of positive signs around. This is going to be a great year…

There are a few changes to the 2024 Programme we must make, mainly because of unforeseen clashes:

1. Page 35 - the inaugural Alan Turner Memorial Teams unfortunately clashes (one day only, Oct 4) with NZ Congress. This will affect a number of Club players.
   SOLUTION: except for the first batch of books released, the Oct 4 date has been blacked out. If yours has not been blacked out, please do so now. The Teams event will continue as a 3-day event - Sept 20, 27, Oct 11. The Oct 4 Friday will be a one-day Congress Pairs event. You can, of course, still play on that day with your Teams partner, a “fine-tune” before the final session. In addition, we have decided, in the spirit of inclusion (we want as many involved in this as possible, and we believe Alan would have also), to make this a Handicap Teams event. Please organise your team now….I have.
2. The popular Rotorua Christmas Party tournament attracts a significant number of Tauranga players, and next year is scheduled for Dec 7….the same day as our planned Christmas Party.
   SOLUTION: we shall need to change the date of our Christmas Party, and as the Finals of the Regional Championships (previously Inter-Provincial Championships) are on Nov 30, WE PROPOSE DEC 14 FOR THE 2024 CHRISTMAS PARTY….please put this in your diary now.
